there was a lot of Hell Yeah in this issue. It was only let down by the 'it all began with you barry' crap. Here, I thought it all began with Jay Garrick

Yeah, you can't beat the "Flashing Running" moments here.

Iris looks awfully young there.

And while I'm happy they're hinting Max might be back I'd be happy to leave Johnny Quick behind, because his joining the Speed Force was brilliantly done.

Is anyone else just happy that Wally's still getting to be awesome, even despite the fact Saint Barry is back? I am :).

Motto as well!

Wally was who I most associated it with, and while I did enjoy Bart a lot, Wally is the Flash for me. Barry was just this guy, you know?

Wally has a personality. Barry never really did, which is why he was killed off in the first place; by then he was played out, and now he's surplus to needs.

And wait till Barry sees how Wally's been with the Rogues. "You hang out with WHO?"

Iris is the best looking Grandma in comics. Really how old is she supposed to be (I know about the future stuff but still...)? Carol Ferris has this problem too, she should be the same as Hal is chronologically (i.e. in her mid-40s) but looks ten years younger at least. DC is always coming up with excuses to make their heroes look younger and don't bother to remember to do the same with their significant others.

Well, Carol's rich. She has ways around that aging thing. Iris, at best, should be let's see...mm, let's say in her 50s at best.

The heroes look like a photographer is about to take the picture and Hal just wandered in front.

I'd like to be more ticked off with Johns, here...the dialog is really awkward and stilted here compared to his work elsewhere and the plot really seems to drag at times.

But on the other hand it feels like this (as well as Legion of Three Worlds) is singularly designed to answer fan requests for stuff...and I'm OK with that. Max Mercury appears to no longer be dead, for example. Wally doesn't appear to be getting shunted out, but is instead 'Family Flash'. The Reverse-Flash monologue about Barry being made into a martyr was pretty good. Jay and Bart taking down Zoom was also a nice touch.

The only party I didn't like was the whole 'it all started with you' stuff, which felt really pigeon-holed...especially with the idea that it goes backwards through the timeline, so Jay and Max are actually results of Barry's power. Whuh? Ah well, that'll prolly be forgotten soon enough.

Let's start beating Zoom down, OK?

I thought Max wasn't dead but trapped in the speed force and hand someone else riding shotgun in his mind?

Sort of, yes. He was possessed by 'The Rival' and his spirit thrown into the speed force while said villain stole his body. The Rival has not been seen since then. Max was revealed to be in the speed force during Infinite Crisis and then was freed in the latest Flash: Rebirth (though he nearly died first).

Mostly, his story and arc suffer from total neglect. A Flash writer habit, regrettably.

Ah, ok I was mostly on target then.

Does this mean that Max is... Deadman!Flash basically now? A disembodied super fast spirit (how fast is a ghost, anyway? Same as a European swallow?)

Maybe without his soul, Max Mercury's body lost contact with the Speed Force and just withered away, killing the Rival along with it. And now when he returned from the Speed Force, his spirit simply materialized a new body out of the ambient energy surrounding him.

I'd like my No-Prize now.

Zoom should be beaten down, then brought back in time, beaten again, rinse, repeat.

In fact, that's what Barry should do. Smash Zoom's face forever.
