As mentioned, that's the standard: That's why you can't get out of a battery charge by saying you were drunk. The presumption is that if you were voluntarily imbibing alcohol you should know the effects and that you might do things you wouldn't normally do.
The exceptions are (as mentioned) if someone slips you drugs/alcohol without your knowledge and if you are drunk you can't even indicate consent, which usually means unconsciousness of some kind.
