I wasn't grouping you in with other commentators (one of the side-effects, I suppose, of this posting format's splintering off of conversations).
I didn't tell you how to read it, I suggested that it's probably best to just read it within its context, while saying people are free to deconstruct it. To me, though, it's the same as applying the "but really, aren't superheroes all fascist vigilantes?" argument to stories that are clearly intended to not deal with those issues (particularly when it's, as this is, a comedy, a genre that pretty much by default treats things that would be serious in our reality as much less so; 50% of the things people do in your average romantic comedy story would get a person arrested).
