A Drinking Man's Tour of the Galaxy: Part III
Photobucket

Our heroes had braved a brawl at the Black Hole bar, fell into a real black hole, crashed into a bowl world, fought their way through the deadly zones of technology and unarmed combat. After many days they come to the deadliest of all--the Zone of Philosophy!

Part 1, part 2 and now...the conclusion. (App 8 pages from the 28-page Nexus 8)

Nexus does, wishing a copy of his lover into existence. But the creation has innocent, empty eyes, and he knows his wish cannot truly create the woman he loves.

Judah dismisses Nexus' concerns, deciding this zone is perfectly healthful.

Oh, and are you going to be posting more Nexus stuff?

Not at the moment. I've got a backlog of stuff I'd like to post, when I have time to put them together.

"Ashram said you were crazier than an orbital rat!"

Oh, I laughed. Way to fall for the obvious ploy, Badger.

These have been fabulous.

One request, to you or the mods: could you possibly tag these posts with "title: nexus" so they can be found easily in the future?

Anyone can tag it! I will tag it!

As he said. But I used the 'char: nexus' tag to check if somebody'd already posted these, so presumably that works too. Some Nexus has been posted before.

Does it strike anyone else that Badger is sounding somewhat Australian?
Also, I like the idea of a place where you are essentially FORCED to be philosophical, where you cannot HELP but muse and discuss endlessly upon the topics of life, the universe and everything. Talk about an insidious trap - you'd eventually crawl right up your own navel and come out the other side.

Hmm. No idea. Possibly Wisconsin was invaded by Australia in this 'verse.

And yes, I LOVE the forced philosophy. These types of people are noted to never pause to think, and being FORCED to think along these lines...what I wouldn't give to see supertypes in this situation and find out what kind of blather would they would put out. :)

Hell, imagine if Batman wound up there. You'd never be able to get him to STOP; you'd have to knock him out or something before he stopped unloading about the meaning of life and his abandonment issues.

Excellent. Thanks again. I had forgotten about NEXUS but it really is a high point.
