Guess who's back... Back again, yes?
I wasn't much interested in the announcement of a S.W.O.R.D. ongoin, announced at Wizardworld Chicago, despite the presence of Beast and the promise of Lockheed as the team's Wolverine. Until I read this interview.

"And in the first issue, as I needed a bounty hunter for a plot beat..."

I wonder who they could be talking about.

But don't call him a bounty hunter. He's a freelance peace keeping agent, right?

Now can we get a guest slot in Deadpool, pretty please?

I just picked up a trade of this at Chicago Comic Con! For only five bucks even!

I also got Hercules Prince of Power and a ton of Ghost Rider. It was awsome.

Haven't read most of it yet though. I'm trying to pace myself.

Why do Death's Head lovers hate Death's Head 2?

I don't hate Death's Head II, I just think DH1 had far more humour, character, personality quirks, a more memorable design and a clearer focus, while DHII was kinda generic 90s, with a character design blended from Alien and Predator with Terminator II's abilities.

Oh, I heard people did. It seems like somewhere there is a Hal-versus-Kyle level fanhate out there.

Not that I've ever seen. DHII was popular. DHI is just more... cult and far more British, to be honest. I've never seen a significant frothing over DHII, just disappointment like mine.

That pretty much sums up my gripes as well.

Wait - where, exactly, is this supposed to be set? It certainly doesn't LOOK like New York. Also, there's an incorrect Britishism there - presuming that this gangster's an American, it should be 'drop 'em down an ELEVATOR shaft,' not 'lift'.

It's the year 8162, the Los Angeles Resettlement. Far in the future, so the language and architecture getting a bit mixed up, no surprise there.

Death's Head never did get the chance to settle in any time period for long. Bloody Gallifreyians.

Ah, that would explain it.

I've seen bits and pieces of Death's Head over the years. Are DH's "yes" outbursts supposed to be a "Britishism" or something?

Not really. His habit of ending statements with a question was apparently modeled after someone who was working with Simon Furman at Marvel UK at the time (Steve White or Richard Starkings and others appear to be possible candidates).

(It's often assumed he ended every sentence with yes?, but that's not true, there was a mix of non-questions mixed with a bunch of yes? eh? huh? right? and so on. It's just yes? was the most common useage.)

That's why I said I've seen bits and pieces of him, and my first exposure was in the British Transformers comics. I wasn't sure if those additions were a British thing or a DH quirk, so thanks for clearing it up for me.
