One of these days Wolverine and Mystique need to have a "die-off".

IIRC, in "Get Mystique," Logan didn't kill her outright but left her somewhere to die. Which rarely works in comic books that don't have "Punisher" in the title.

Yup, he left her out in the desert with a gun.

Remember when Mystique tried to wipe out the human race with a modified version of the Legacy Virus? Good times...

Hey, if it weren't for that Beast wouldn't have been able to cure the real Legacy Virus. :p

Yeah, I'm not sure I'd call them X-dicks in particular here as they are dealing with Mystique, a mass murdering terrorist.

Still like her better than Wolverine.

I'm seeing a theme here >_>

At least the comics aren't forcing me to like Wolverine and accept him as the main character I'm supposed to care about.

Yet Wolverine hasn't tried to kill Daken, an evil little sociopath, murderer, and possible rapist with no redeemable qualities.

And it'd be one thing if Cyclops sicced Wolverine on her after Dream's End, but after Messiah Complex, where her goal was to save her daughter's life?

I'd say, given her track record of murder and duplicity, Mystique is long past getting ANY benefit of the doubt, she's too unpredictable, too unrelaible, and too ready to kill anyone who inconveniences her.

And Daken is more deserving of life than her because... ?

Dunno, don't know the character properly, but he's new enough there might be hope for redemption (wouldn't be the first time the X-verse have done that). With Mystique they HAVE tried to bring her into the team when she professed to have changed, twice AFAIK (Once with X-Factor, once with the X-Men) and in both cases it turned out she was lying and she betrayed them.

With X-Factor they forced her against her will to join.

I'd forgotten that, but didn't she then spin the whole "I've reformed really, having seen what a nice guy Forge is" thing into a chance to steal his tech?

I checked out her spotlight on UncannyXmen.net and there's no mention of that.

Ah, I'm getting it mixed up with the time she moved in with Forge because she was apparently going nuts, but may instead having been faking it to get access to his files.

She took a risk, saved Rogue's life, and the baby was unharmed. Should she have just sat on her hands and let Rogue die a horrible death?

Daken is his kid. It's possible that Wolverine doesn't want to admit that he can't be turned around to the good guys (despite the fact that the little punk has already betrayed him at least once, I know).

Cyclops said that Logan wants to save Daken to prove that he himself can be saved or some such.

He just needs to learn that his son is a total asshole and get over it already.

Yah. Wolverine's probably blaming the evil mastermind Romulus for everything Daken's done, but as omniscient readers, we know Daken was bad long before that. And comparing their behavior while they were both controlled by Romulus? Wolverine never showed the sheer sadism and glee in others' misery that Daken does.

[info]likeaminx

Exactly. Daken loves what he's doing. He's made an art out of screwing people over, manipulating them, and/or killing them. I just really want Logan to realize that. It would be priceless

[info]ashtoreth
2009-08-08 03:30 am UTC (link)
But would he kill him? Logan kills people LIKE Daken all the time, with little justification other than "some people need killin'". Will he just go with the hypocritical "but he's my SON", learn to respect the sanctity of lives of all massmurdering serial rapists, or just kill him?

Not quite, but yeh. Now she is impersonating him for Norman Osborn as one of the "Dark" X-men. He put a bomb in her body, so it's not out of her free will. If she disobeys she goes Boom! and SPLAT! all over.

Xavier's not involved in Dark X-Men.

The 'Xavier' in the story is Mystique in disguise, and it's Osborn who put the bomb in her.

I have no idea what Xavier's doing, currently, actually, since he's not appearing in Uncanny or Astonishing.

No, he's in the Utopia crossover in Uncanny and Dark Avengers. He's already been captured by Osborn and is in the cell adjacent to Beast.
