Teen Titans #73

Remember this post?

Well, it's more of the same in #73.

Okay, Deathstroke made Rose become the Ravager by manipulating her (as seen here). What's the point of having him also drug her against her will? It's just a pointless retcon.

I'm pretty sure he was always drugging her so this isn't a retcon.

Depends on your definition of "always"

For a while there, way back in the annuals of time, Slade had no idea he had a daughter, who grew into adolescence without ever meeting, or even knowing of, her father.

Or maybe the poster is just referring to Deathstroke's continued retconning from a morally complex Mercenary with a convoluted sense of ethics and honor to maniacal card-carrying villain.

Ok, let me define 'always.' He drugged her ever since he got a hold of her after arranging the hit by his brother on her current foster family. I'm well aware of the past where he didn't know about her, or the time when he kept her away to keep her safe.

He didn't drug her against her will like this.

I'll agree about the 'against her will' part. I just assumed the drugs kept her psychotic and he never really had to worry about her refusing them. It wasn't until Nightwing convinced her about the Kryptonite poisoning that she broke away. She didn't really seem to have a problem with anything Slade was doing until then. I had assumed that after that she went through detox and came back to her senses.

He injected her with the serum that gave him his powers. The psychosis was a a side-effect.

And I think he only had to inject her once; it's not like he constantly has to inject himself with the serum to keep his powers.
