SDCC: Fables
Every year at the Vertigo Fables panel the creators give a 'throwaway' page, usually a gag, but this year they made a page hinting what the next 100 issues of Fables will be about.

From Willingham:

"...For the first time we decided to go the other way and do a serious, very dramatic Fables story, one that has far-reaching consequences for the series to follow. This one-page comic hints at what the second hundred issues of Fables will all be about.”

The first page with their names is issue 48, but is there any reason to the order?

This is them in the hospital from issue 30, it's not that hard to tell which they're supposed to be. They may be set in order of birth.

From general hair color...Therese, Conner, Winter, Ambrose, Darien, and Blossom. [Not pictured: Ghost the zephyr.] The only thing that doesn't line up is the first one, that she'll be a 'king'. Other than that, it works.

Winter was the first of the 6 corporeal cubs born. We see this during Mean Seasons, and she was totally human looking.

So the prophecy may not be about birth order. Unless Ghost was really the first born, in which case it might make sense.

I wouldn't necessarily read too much into the use of "king" (remember the case of "pirate king" Elizabeth Swann) when determining who does what.

Though the fact that they were gender specific about the third child makes me wonder whether the gendered noun "king" is accurate.

Could be that she marries into the name King. I believe it's the standard subversion for this sort of oracle trope.

Sort of how a dog named Prince woke up Sleeping Beauty last time she fell asleep..

I feel really really bad for Ambrose.

I always thought of Zephyr as a boy -- is that correct?

Bigby has referred to him as "son" several times.

Calling it now, Therese is evil. Those punk flower hairclips look like she'd shoot a man in Reno, just to watch him die.
Although Blossom sounds shifty too.

To this day, Conner's uncanny resemblance to Prince Charming throws me off.

And Therese always looks like Beauty to me.

I have read somewhere where Mark Buckingham swears that was unintentional.

I'm calling Conner as the 'King' - he got the Charming genes by some form of fairytale osmosis and the King bit happens when it turns out he really is Charming's in some small, unbelievable way.

...Ozma?

What were the previous one-pagers? I know about the Babe at Comic-con one; were there others?

The little witch has what looks like an Oz belt on. To date, she has never been named.

So I am guessing she is either Glinda, Ozma, Mombi or some other Oz related witch.

Or the belt is just a Z with a circle around it, in which case I have no idea.

Given her age, I'd say Ozma is the most likely of those three candidates. Wasn't this character blonde in her past appearances? If so, another point towards Ozma, who's described as blonde in "The Marvelous Land of Oz."

I agree; though if she were Dorothy, it would be adorable (and Dorothy is always blonde, while Ozma is often dark), between the Oz belt and the flower in her hair--most of the pictures of Ozma show her with these two enormous poppies on either side of her head--it looks like Ozma to me.

Sadly, Dorothy's already shown up in Jack of Fables, so it's not her. I don't read that book, so I don't know the details, but I know she's shown up.

Ozma is also depicted with poppy flowers in her hair from the Oz books, and it look like she has those flowers in this page as well.

The 'King' will probably be either Ghost or Ambrose when they take over for Grandad. But if Ghost is the King, then Ambrose will probably be the one that "lives to ages old, and is heaven blessed".
