Things That Make You Go *awww*

I'm posting this to kind of test the waters, I guess.
Would anyone here be interested in seeing more of the older DELL, GOLD KEY, and WHITMAN material in this community?
I know the WARREN material is being covered by cyberghostface, bluefall is sharing the history of WW, and dr_hermes gives us our daily obscurity and mystery photo game;

so, would kiddie comic shorts be welcome for reading and discussion, or is it a waste of my time??

I'm glad you included the pledge. I like that they thought a mother coming home to find her murdered children part of their "only good fun" policy.
Touching story, with yes, those "awww" moments. (even though I think those Cheetahs may be tasting her in the last panel)
I for one am on board for other such materials.

I wonder if this was based on an actual event. Can't be any weirder than the lioness that adopted an impala calf that I saw on Animal Planet.

The hyena, preying always on the young, the sick or the helpless

...Yes? Like every other predator ever?

I like how they make it sound so "vile", when it's the very basis of natural selection.

Actually, yes, I would like more. There's a lot of overlooked gems, at least in terms of older kinds of comics storytelling, among those. (And I like TUROK, at least for its covers. Actually, DELL had really cool painted covers, which made them stand out, but also contributed to a sort of stuffy feel to them to a kid.

And I like this little story. It's not easy to emotionally engage people with non-anthropomorphic animal characters. WE3 was amazing in that regard.

This is really cute! So yeah, I'd love to see a lot more of this material.

Absolutely! Dell, Gold Key and Whitman all had some terrific comics that deserve a little attention. I love super-heroes as much as the next fanboy but there is so much more to comics than that.

Gold Key in particular had a policy of printing their painted covers on the back with printing... great posters that would make a decent coffee-table book.

This is...

Yes, I'd like to see more. It weirds me out, because of the anthropomorphism, but it also draws me in. Because of the anthropomorphism. Weird.
