World's Finest 297 - "Breaking Up Is Hard to Do"
Roughly a page's worth from World's Finest #297, August 1983, not my scans. For reasons not entirely clear to me, having to do with events in JLA and Batman and the Outsiders apparently, Batsy is in a temper. How dare Supes save his life! How dare he beat him to doing-good-deeds punch! And pretty soon, the boys are on the outs.

Oh, to have had this issue during Manly Tears Week...

	Oh man, this is almost enough to turn me into a clark/bruce shipper! I mean, does Batman even have pictures of his girlfriends hanging on the wall up in the manor for all to see? ...and Clark, poor sensitive Clark. I can't see Selina crying over Bruce. So on Batman's wall we have a picture of Superman and Batman having a manly handshake, a nice headshot of Superman that Batman seems to be trying to ruin, two pictures in which the boys are either line dancing or having a mutual flail moment, and finally a picture in which Superman seems to be sharing an enthusiastic embrace with some smaller person in tiny bat ears (Robin?) while Batman pretends not to know them. Seems about right indeed.

Oh Bruce. Why is it so hard for you to tell your boyfriends you love them?

	Somehow, the intro of Bon Jovi's "bed of roses" fits the scene. either that, or a piano accompaniment reminiscent of "it's all coming back to me" or I would do anything for love, complete with Meatloaf's soaring vocals at the end. OMFG. hahahaha!~ (Reply to this)

	Uggghhh! This makes me cringe. I am so glad Frank Miller ended that Batman and Superman relationship. I'm disappointed to see writers like Jeph Loeb depicting them as the best of friends again. Batman and Superman not liking each other is much more entertaining. (Reply to this)
