To be fair, I don't really think the Hudlin Black Panther reflects that aspect of hip hop (although I could be wrong). He's never struck me as particularly disrespectful towards women, any more than he is towards everyone and everything else that isn't Wakandan. To me, the issue is more that the two got married because they're both BLACK rather than because they actually have any sort of a history together - I've actually heard them described as 'Marvel's most prominent black couple'. It's a PR play, instead of any particular character development, and while, to be fair, Ororo has proved to be a pretty kick-ass queen, it's still a marriage that never should have happened in the first place - if I remember correctly, it was just suddenly announced that 'oh, by the way, we love each other, and we're going to get married'. No buildup, no anything. Storytelling at its best, I tells ya.
