It's pretty clear that Hudlin's one of those people that will view any story he reads through his own particular lens, and rationalize it or remember it how he wants it to have happened or to have meant what he wanted it to mean.
Sorta like when you get someone on here that can write two paragraphs of pondering the deep, meaningful literary significance of Jason Todd not putting on the mask the first time he wore the Robin suit as it relates to the overall interpretation of the entire Bat-Family and their decades-long history, instead of just going "Or maybe the artist wanted to emphasize it's Jason Todd wearing a Robin costume".
