The Spirit - Cooter Creek
So we all know Samuel L. Jackson's Octopus was pretty gonzo. But he was not the lamest villain the Spirit's ever fought. Cooter was. In fact, Cooter might be the lamest villain ever to appear in any comic book. I guess not even Eisner can knock them all out of the park. So who was Cooter?

Warning: The racist caricatures of Ebony White and his supporting cast figure prominently into this story.

So let's just pretend we didn't see that, all agreed? Cooter's coming!

JESUS CHRIST IT'S A TURTLE GET IN THE CAR!

Climb a tree! Turtles can't climb trees!

It toppled the tree! How will they survive? How can they possibly get away from a turtle? GAME OVER, MAN, GAME OVER!

And so, after invading an innocent creature's natural habitat, they celebrate their victory over a large snapping turtle by cooking and eating it. Admittedly, that is pretty hardcore to do to an enemy. When was the last time Wolverine ate Sabretooth, or Batman ate Catwoman?

My brother and dad went fishing once, caught a regular-sized snapping turtle, and ran away from it screaming like children. It was pretty hilarious.

Then, later, my brother and I went fishing, he caught ANOTHER snapping turtle (although this one was slightly larger) and jumped into the bed of the truck to hide from it. Which was even more hilarious because my brother was, like, sixteen at the time.

It wouldn't be Scans_Daily if someone didn't take advantage of that straight line. But you lose points for not working in a 'eating pussy' reference. The most I can give you is high three.

I would also have accepted "he bat off more than he could chew."

Ditto. But, as soon as I saw the setup, I knew I wasn't gonna get a chance to be the one to make the joke. >_>

There's a cooter in it!

All the more reason to go there, I suppose.
