I was more along the lines of roles that they play. Hal is kind of like Luke, he's got power, and while Luke had the potential to become evil (I think he did so in the continuing book series) Hal has already done his 'evil stint' with Parallax. Luke played an important part in brining down both his father and the Emporer. Looking at this upcoming arc, and the build up to it, Hal will most likely be a keyplayer in stopping the Black Lanterns as well.
Although Saint Walker with a light saber would look pretty cool IMHO.
