Wondy 33
Four pages from today's Wondy.

So, the sea monsters from the preview attack the island. The amazons fight back. Ares shows up.

WHUT. She won't kill Genocide, but she will kill Ares? She can kill Ares? Since when? He's the god of war. The whole point of him is that he outclasses her as much as Clark outclasses Jim Gordon.

They're on Thalarion at this point, and Zeus shows up and is all "be a wife and mother, and oh I killed Kane."

When WML does a better Polly than Gail, something is badly wrong with the universe.

... yeah.

On the plus side, I've had to cut back on luxuries recently and I've been waffling over what titles to cut, and this makes that decision easier at least..

Aw, shit, bluefall, did you HAVE to post the very last pages?

Well, yes. They're what irritated me, they're what I want to talk about, they're the point of the story. They're the same pages two other scanners were in the process of scanning when I posted this, because they are what we, as a group of Wondy fans, are interested in discussing with each other.

That said, I'm sorry for darkening your Wednesday. Airports are obnoxious enough without entitled fans making them that much worse. I don't think I was wrong to post (and, being verbose me, just cropped about five paragraphs of pointless exposition on why, because an apology seems rather more relevant), but that doesn't mean I don't genuinely regret doing anything to vex you. :(

"Well, yes. They're what irritated me,"

Well, of course, that's all that truly matters.

Never mind, I just find it incredibly inconsiderate to readers who have been following the story for eight months to post the entire ending out of context.

I still love and support SD, and thankfully, most posters have been a lot more considerate about other readers.

With respect, Gail, what is inconsiderate to other readers is for them to decide. Those who did not want to be spoiled were welcome to not read the clearly spoiler-marked post. That is standard universal fandom policy, and members of fandom are very familiar with the process of not clicking on things they know will ruin their experience. I do it every Wednesday, when people post here before I've had a chance to get my pulls.

And your isolation of "they're what irritated me" is kind of a slick rhetorical trick, ignoring the rest of that sentence and the fact that both [info]gargoylekitty and [info]colonel_green were both in the process of scanning these exact pages when I posted, as you'll note upthread. These are the pages we want to talk about. That is what S_D is for - talking about the comics we read. I'm not sure how you can consider it inconsiderate to the S_D community to do exactly what we're here for.

It's not a trick, it's the crux of the discussion. But you do what you
like. I can't stop you and wouldn't try.

But most of the posters were vastly more considerate in the gillions
of threads on books i'vebeen involved with. The fact that so
few would do this is a testament to sd.

You obviouslly disagree.

Obviously.

The considerate thing to do with a spoiler is to warn people that it is a spoiler at a point where they still have the opportunity to not read it. This is universal fandom etiquette. On a messageboard, it takes the form of spoiler tags so the reader can choose whether or not to highlight the text underneath. In a livejournal or LJ clone community, it takes the form of "spoilers under the cut," so that people who do not want to be spoiled can choose not to click the cut. Which is exactly what I did here.

If anyone read these pages before reading the issue, it is because ze wanted to. There is no lack of consideration in a spoiler-tagged spoiler.

We disagree then. I think it sucks to post the entire ending of an issue just a couple hours after some comics stores are even open on the day of release.

As I said, we obviously disagree. Thank goodness most posters have also been more considerate.

And I misspelled, "obviously," in my previous comment, which I find for some reason to be HILARIOUS.

Gah! Massive HTML fail. Let's just pretend I properly closed that italic. >.>

And I misspelled, "obviously," in my previous comment, which I find for some reason to be HILARIOUS.

Back in the day, there was a Law and Order SVU episode titled "Competence," which was misspelled in TV Guide promos. We all thought it was an especially good ep to screw up on. :)

Anyway, you continue to say stuff like this:

Thank goodness most posters have also been more considerate.

And that's just wrong. This is what we do here. Every single 0-day post we do is massively spoilery. That's *why* we got TOSed from the old site - PAD didn't like that somebody posted about his Maddox plot the day it came out. Because of course we did. Because that's our thing. We talk about comics. You go see a movie with your friends, you walk out of the theatre, you talk about the movie with them. Two hours after the movie opens, if you saw it opening night, yes. You walk out of the LCS, you read your comic, you log on to talk to your friends about it. Two hours after the LCS opens, if that's when you read it, yes. "Hey, what about this part? What did you think?" It's how people react to stories, they immediately want to talk about them with other people who experienced them. That includes endings, middles, speculation. Posts that have four pages still spoil the other 18 within six comments (though as an aside, I note that no one here has yet mentioned the fate of Genocide's soul). Of the last ten 0-day posts on this community, *eight* include or summarize the last page and scene of the issue in question, and all of that is within 48 hours of the East Coast LCSes opening.

If you have a problem with this post, yes, this particular specific post which you consider inconsiderate, you have a problem with S_D, because this post is completely 100% S_D Standard, making us therefore inconsiderate to ourselves as a matter of policy.
