I was thinking about that. Agreed it's a great moment and that Tomasi is fantastic. I have no idea how much any given batwriter reads of another batwriter's work. But to me Bruce's admission that he saw Alfred as a true father figure was huge and powerful and I wonder if Winick's "I am not all right, my son has just died" would have even been able to happen without Tomasi's moment in Outsiders coming first.
