How can I put this...

1. Ew, I so did not ever ask for that.

2. Whatever. Although... whoever designed the poster there on the cover did not do the best job. I mean, it's fine as a cover, but it kinda reads "HEY! THIS ABSOLUTELY NORMAL-LOOKING TEENAGER IN A HALLOWEEN COSTUME WILL PROTECT YOU!" I do not feel comforted. Heh.

3. Oh dear god, what the hell is wrong with their bodies!? The artist does know that the helmet is just that... a helmet, right? The mouth makes Juggernaut look like a smooshed Muppet.

4. I really have not been waiting for a Rulk anything, sorry.

5. Holy mother of God, nice cover.

6. The ancient b- WHAT? Wow. That... I know I haven't followed it for reasons of massive fail, but that has somehow managed to become even more stupid than I originally recall. Oh, Way. This is why I hate you, so.

I think I'll just wait for Reborn and pray it doesn't suck...

Red Hulk vs Wolverine, written by Jeph Loeb.

If this ends in something other then Red Hulk mopping the floor with Logan, I'll honestly be very surprised.

Apparently all "feral" mutants (i.e., Wolverine, Sabertooth, Sasquatch, and a couple of catgirls) are the pack of some ancient dude who controls their lives. Go figure.

I hope Butterball doesn't get too overexposed. He's a fun character (and the chances of them killing him off randomly are pretty minimal given his power is explicitly "Invulnerability"), but I'd rather Komodo get some facetime. Poor girl needs the love.

Regeneration works oddly if you make it work too hard too often...

On the plus side, Jean probably left some clothes lying around he can use when that red unitard needs to hit the wash.

I really can't imagine "Gosh, when will we get to see some more Clone Saga?" topping the lists in reader questions over there at Marvel HQ somewhow.

I really like all those covers except Plain Hulk, though.

It was the surprise ending (sort of) to an issue from a couple of months ago. Loki decided having a team of Avengers might be interesting for any future power plays against other Cabal members, and so started impersonating Wanda (who, as far as we know, is still off in Europe somewhere... I think), but Quicksilver's been throwing a monkey wrench in that just by being around.

Like I've said before... the original Clone Saga was an absolute mess, but there was SOMETHING there that could have been interesting, if the entire thing hadn't been dragged out, changed direction, had its basic ideas scrapped, re-imagined, re-scrapped, queried, lost, found, subjected to public enquiry, lost again, and finally buried in soft peat for three months and recycled as firelighters.

A Clone Saga that's actually coherent, with characters whose motivations are... actually there, might actually be interesting. (But then I always liked Ben Reily.)

Looking at the Avengers cover, there's really only one thing that strikes me, and it's not even about the comic itself: I've always been a bit of a norse mythology buff, and even though I'm all for re-imaginings and different interpretations, Marvel's blonde, clean-shaven version of Thor has always kinda irked me... but somehow, for some reason, I have no problems accepting a female Loki.

The Ultimate Clone Saga was really enjoyable (in fact I showed it to a friend and now he's a devout follower of UltSpidey). Altho it did lack some of the angst (the good kind) potential the original had.
