*laughs* Oh wow, they just won't stop messing with Tim's head will they? Also, although those are probably flamethrowers, I choose to believe those are proton packs and they're ghostbusting. *nods*

Donna's worst nightmare: being reminded that she had slept with her schlubby, middle aged college tutor. Also, Pantha? Did they superglue her noggin back on or something, or are there various chunks of reanimated Titans wandering about. Like Bushido and Anima's legs, for example.

Cover by Frank Quitely
Variant cover by Philip Tan
Meet the Red Hood and his sidekick Scarlet, Gotham City’s vicious new “protectors,” in the start of a new arc! This dangerous duo is out to destroy the very reputation and legacy of the Batman by replacing it altogether. Writer Grant Morrison (FINAL CRISIS) teams with hot new artist Philip Tan (GREEN LANTERN) to bring you what’s sure to be the new Batman and Robin’s biggest challenge yet!
Retailers please note: This issue will ship with two covers. For every 25 copies of the Standard Edition (with a cover by Frank Quitely), retailers may order one copy of the Variant Edition (with a cover by Philip Tan). Please see the Previews Order Form for more information.

As the new Batgirl continues her nightly mission, the mystery of her secret identity intensifies. Now she has become the target of both Gotham City’s heroes (who don’t take kindly to a new person wearing the cape and the cowl) and its villains (who want to see the entire Bat-family six feet under)!
On sale September 16 • 32 pg, FC, $2.99 US

Someone new? Hrrm, so either Steph or Misfit... I guess.

GOTHAM CITY SIRENS #4

Eh, I don't know. I think that it needs more IvyAss.

...Where exactly is Selina's other hand?

------

I said it before, and I'll say it again. I don't think DC should do Black Lantern Donna-Troy's-Dead-Baby. Black Lantern Terry Long, sure. But not the baby. Losing a child completely rips a family apart, and often destroys the mother. I would know-it happened to my family. I don't trust DC to handle this properly or respectfully. I think they'll use it for shock value and cheap stunts. And using the topic of a child's death for that...it just really rubs me the wrong way.

Wasn't it DC that gave us the Aborted Fetuses Demon?

Yeah. There's no way in hell they're going to handle that well.

...Where exactly is Selina's other hand?

You know, this time I think there's no question. It really is in Harley's crotch. Even if Harely's just humped up against the back of Selina's wrist, there really isn't any other place Selina's hand can be.

That would explain why Ivy looks so pissed with them in the background, there.

Come now, that's an exaggeration. It could be planted firmly on Harley's ass.

...Where exactly is Selina's other hand?

Either she's lost her arm, or it's the reason why Harley's so happy there.

You know, I really do want Gotham Sirens to be a book I'd like, but I cannot stand the art.

It would be one thing if the baby was depicted as a 'Salem's Lot-esque wraith and not a slobbering zombie. I could handle that. But this seems almost more distasteful than the original Long Family Massacre.

I agree with you on this. The solicit with Donna's baby is tasteless.
Especially since she has been written with so many serious issues since the accidental child's death.
Maybe Terry, I can see. But yeah, the baby considering the previous storylines involving her son. No.

Is it me, or are all the Titains tie-ins kinda tasteless? I mean they had Changeling making out with Zombie!Terra, and now Donna with the zombie baby. It just seems like the creative team aren't handling this very well. :S

I fully support Zombie Terry. Will they be shooting Black Lantern's like they do Zombies? Because with summer coming I have time to help.

The baby thing is wrong for all the reasons you state. And Donna looks so sad :{

where's Selina's hand? Just look at Harley's face.

Jason Todd, who really was serious about that "stealing everyone's uniform" thing. Steph's daughter, or Selina's, either of whom got accelera-grown offstage like always seems to happen to hero kids. Time-traveling Carrie Kelly. Roy, who's been trying to get back to his roots, but has forgotten which redheaded yellow-boot-wearing love interest of Dick's he actually was. Tim, whose costumed-identity crisis has hit a peak. Harley Quinn, like in, uh, that one time, you know.

(I'm rooting for Jason.)

I'm rooting for either Roy or Tim on this one. *giggle* Actually, I'm hoping Cass stays Batgirl, but if they make the person in the costume be either Steph or one of the two others I previously mentioned I'll definitely be okay with it. If it's Jason, I certainly won't throw a hissy-fit, though.

Not so much Pet Sematary as 'Salem's Lot, which IIRC did have a vampire baby.

The baby didn't look so much 'vampire' as 'hell-demon-possessed-zombie' to me, which made me think of the kid from PS.

Then I remembered the Spaceballs Animated Series, which I had successfully purged from my mind.

I saw the preview cover for Blackest Night: Superman #2. It features the late Psycho-Pirate. Complete with the hole through the face and head that Black Adam punched for him.

So, yeah, it's likely Pantha's going to be holding her head under a shoulder.

About the Batman cover.

One of the thing that troubles me about the Sons of the Bat and THE Dark Knight himself is that Bruce would go into battle against the undead with a plan. Not this "yeah though I walk through the valley the undead, I shall fear no evil for I carry a mighty boom stick" stuff that the kids are doing.

No, I mean Bruce would charge down their throats with Plan A, Plan B, Plan shove C-4 down some undead maw and pop a cap in his ass. They're dead already, Bruce has no reason to hold back! Bruce would roll on through like a nightmare, with Bat-tle Armor and with NAPALM, Etrigan and a fricking Bat toys especially made just in case the dead rise full of whoop ass pyrotechnics based off of Firefly's designs! Scorched Earth kind of stuff!!! "I kick ass for the Lord" kind of wrath!!!

Enough cleansing flame prepared just in case Poison Ivy's babies get beyond her control!!
Enough BOOM BOOM to make Mother Nature piss her pantsuit!!! You don't hear the sound of zombies screams, but you know the sound a zombie makes when it fries!!!

C'mon boys, dig around the cave! You know Bruce left the utensils and recipe for fresh BBQ undead, with original herbs and spices. Something that would make zombies fear the Batman. Flame throwers are for the army redshirts... you are the Sons of the Bat!!! Break out the stuff that lets you leave hot, molten black glass in your wake. Want some, GET some!! Yeeee-ah!!!

(I love Tropic Thunder)

*ahem* I do look forward to the other Blackest Night entries, too.

From "The Zombie Survival Guide: Complete Protection from the Living Dead" by Max Brooks

"The living dead have no fear of fire. Waving an open flame in a ghoul's face will do nothing to slow or impede its advance. Zombies who have caught fire will neither notice nor react to the engulfing flames in any way. Too many humans have met with tragedy for failing to understand that fire is no deterrent to zombies!"

"Flesh -- human, undead, or otherwise -- takes a long time to burn. In the minutes or hours before a blazing zombie succumbs, it will become a walking -- or to be perfectly accurate, a shambling -- torch. Several cases have been recorded in which burning ghouls have done more damage, even caused more deaths, than they would have with only their fingernails and teeth."

I wonder why everyone goes with fire over water when it comes to zombies.

I mean, fire hoses could keep back the crowds and with a few modications, pressure washers that can cut through stone should be able to slice up zombies with little trouble.

Quitely is an artist whose works I sometimes adore, and sometimes cringe at. I think this is a sort of cringing one.

March is uhm, quite curvy here. The detail work is gorgeous. Are they going to have canonical lesbianism for those three now? I mean that cover is seriously sexed up and lovely and all but seems a bit of silliness.
