One Perfect Moment: Cyborg Superman
This moment never gets old!

I was thinking from posting a scene from the one-shot by Alan Burnett/Patrick Blaine. But I digress, I had to post this one. Just for sheer back-stabbery and coldness.

What makes this better is that pretty much up to this moment, Cyborg Superman and The Man Of Steel (John Henry Irons) were the best candidates for "really" being Superman come back somehow. The Clone was a young arrogant punk, and The Kryptonian was waaaaaaay too cold and distant. After this, and the above mentioned "Perfect Team"-up, Clone went up to second best Superman candidate (Steel was always the most like Superman in spirit). As much of a money grabbing stunt as The Death Of Superman was, they really did do a good job on the individual parts (up until Superman DID really return, with a mullet).

The guy's been dead/in suspended animation/WHATEVER he was for at least a month or so - you don't think his hair is going to grow a little longer during that time? One could argue that him KEEPING the hairdo might have been a tad unwise, but really, it's a hairdo. A hairdo shouldn't be a dealbreaker. If I see the most beautiful woman I've ever seen walking down the street with her hair died puke-green and in foot-long spikes, she's still going to be the most beautiful woman I've ever seen.

All of that is invalidated by: mullet.

What is with everybody and mullets? They're just a damn hairdo - everyone's allowed one bad hairdo. I mean, honestly, you're impressed with the story right up until Superman actually comes back solely because he's got a MULLET? Who the hell cares? HE"S JUST COME BACK FROM THE DEAD! The point is not his hairdo, the point is that Superman is back from the dead. Enough with the irrational mullet-hatred; good grief...

Have you met anyone who wears a mullet? It's not just a hairdo, it's a lifestyle.

And so is a mohawk, but did Storm's character change substantially once she started wearing one? Did Selina Kyle automatically become a lesbian once she started cutting her hair short and butch? Dr. Strange has Snidely Whiplash's mustache, but does he twirl it menacingly and talk about robbing banks? If you use hair as an indicator of character, you are destined for frustration.

Mohawk isn't a lifestyle choice. Punk is a lifestyle choice. Mohawk is a hairdo many punks wear (fewer these days).

Short hair isn't a lifestyle choice. Bull dyke is a lifestyle choice for some. Short hair is a 'do many of them wear.

Mustache isn't a lifestyle choice. Even goatee/goat facial hair isn't a lifestyle choice. It's a HAIRstyle choice.

Mullet is a lifestyle choice.

Well, HOW is it a lifestyle choice, then?

Knew what it was going to be even before I clicked on it. You're right, it never gets old!

evil son of a bitch. Return of Superman was my first trade I bought back when I was 10. And yes, it did rock right up until Super mullet -_-
