::sigh:: And yet from what I've read in a lot of placs people love it.
Which is fine--there's lots of characters and they can all have fans. But it seems like exactly the things that make me so sad about the whole thing are exactly what people love. He's regal. His bloodline is exceptional (his parents are 2 intelligent rich people). It's great he has no weaknesses. Batman's killed too, just like Damian. He just has to get over his adorable bragging that there's no reason to take seriously and the royal Bat bloodline can begin!
There's a moment where he says Dick should step aside and let him be Batman if he (Dick) can't take it, and Dick brushes him aside with "maybe one day, not today." I thought...so, maybe in a year? Because I could honestly see tweaking this character just a bit and making him a pint-sized Batman (he'd just use mad technology skillz to give the illusion of being bigger or something). He's in a totally different league that that boring, normal Tim Drake who's believably still not ready at 17.
I know all these humans act beyond human ability, but most of them are very clearly normal people with a standard boost. Damian's on a whole other level. If they revealed him to be anything from a cyborg to a djiin it would make perfect sense. But some things I've read say people love this. The less weakness the better.
