Heh. Okay, after some thought, my last comment was needlessly dismissive. I apologize.
Let me assure you, as a freelancer who does not get to *eat* if I can't convince somebody that my writing has any virtue, Sana Takeda probably cares a great deal more about the paycheck Marvel cut her for that cover than what anybody on the internet says about it. In that, she's already lightyears ahead of a large number of the people who criticized it, who, as mostly female members of mostly online fandom, are very likely to be involved in things like fanfic or fanvids, where feedback is all you get and the cushy checks from Marvel are not particularly as forthcoming as C&D orders.
Further, if I should ever write something as grossly inappropriate to the assigned task I'm given as that cover was to the comic it was attached to, I sure hope I get flamed to hell, because I'll deserve every bit of it.
