While I understand that there was no rape in the comic, and that the book itself didn't had any sexual threats given the nature of the whole crossover it was part of, how was somoene supposed to know that the tentacle alien was a female one? Or that the male characters were treated equally bad given the cover?
I know that the artist was a woman, I know that no one involved intended for it to look like a bad hentai-doujinshi cover, but that doesn't change the fact that it does look like that.
If anything, the blame should lay at the feet of the editor, because I can't buy that he didn't took one look at the original sketch and thought that it might imply something else.
