Okay, so, in general, am I the only one a little confused by what Johns is attempting to establish in the relationship between the various coloured rings and their owners?
I understand that Willpower is capable of being harnessed and used, as is compassion, meaning that the users essentially control the ring, but Johns spoke about the further away the ring colour gets from the center of the spectrum, the harder the ring is to control, and the more likely it is to control you. Rage makes sense, because people traditionally lose themselves to that uncontrollably. But love? Love's hardly incredibly overpowering, at least not in the same sense as rage, and I can't understand exactly how these rings control their users. Fear, on the other hand, can absolutely control a person, so, by rights, shouldn't those rings control their users, really?
