Mythapalooza

Four scans apiece from Incredible Hercules #129 and Wonder Woman #32.

Athena sends Herc and Cho to visit the Underworld to retrieve Zeus; the entrance to the Underworld, as we saw in the preview, is in a casino in Atlantic City, and the Erebus, the part they immediately enter, contains all the souls of those lingering between life and death, gambling at a casino until their number comes up and they get to return.  Among them...

Seems since those things happened, Pluto's lost any interest in his job and spends all his time on Earth.

EDIT: Now that I think about, this is some kind of meta-hell, because Bucky was never actually dead.

Speaking of Earth, Hera confronts Hebe about her betraying them and helping Herc survive.  Hebe insists that since Herc is her husband, being loyal to him should be her first concern.  Hera corrects her that her first duty...

I like you, Delphyne, but I'm pretty sure a handgun isn't going to do it against her.

Over in Wondy-land, Diana fights Genocide some more:

Apparently, as Genocide exposits, she was just looking for an "Adam" to help with the whole "depleted race" thing.

Diana gets even more pissed off and they fight some more (this never gets old).

That was a really, really predictable move, but nevertheless...really cool.

Makes sense, given that all Zeus' men were dead.

At least that part of Rucka's run still holds.

I don't recognize the guy that wins his resurrection in the Hercules scan.

Interesting, but isn't Hera risking the wrath of the Furies by attempting to murder her daughter?

Since she took over Zeus' position, I'd say no.

One of the constants I saw in Greek Myths was basically "If you have enough power, there's very little you can't get away with."

It very likely wasn't a serious murder attempt - Hebe is a goddess, after all.

I always kew there was another reason.

Random Thought: I thought it was a little weird that Jan didn't even recognize Herc here, then I had an idea. What if the games played in Erebus just kinda... feed on you, as a way to sustain it (If Erebus is still a primordial deity, that may not still be true)? The more you want to live again, the more your will to do anything but play for your freedom is sapped.

So, in a month or two, will Tresser sell his soul to the Furies to get vengeance and become Nemesis indeed?
Understand, I don't think Gail's THAT predictable, but someone will do it sometime, somewhere. Unfortunately.
I never minded Tresser particularly--but then, I've always liked Steve Trevor as WW's love interest in the Silver/Golden Ages (he was a pilot/intelligence agent/crack shot/knew enough martial arts to kayo a gorilla--his only fault was he wasn't super. Yet you didn't get as many complaints about Lois and Supes, as Trevor and WW.) But since a lot of people didn't like Tresser as her love interest, it's an interesting way to resolve it.

Hrrm, I wonders if this means that Diana might be the pregnant woman in that Omens and Origins thing a few months back.

I have to say though, that Diana wanting someone purely for sex suprises me, if only for that "Diana must never, ever have sex thing" that previous writers appeared to have unofficially established about her.

I love Gail and Wonder Woman... but that was in no way a Katrina or 9/11 moment.

Who died, in the end? Some staff at the DEO and A few people in a shopping mall?

Gotham sees worse in NON-metahuman villain-related disasters.

When it was decided that Genocide would be a version of Diana did you ever consider a making it a version from a different universe, since the Multiverse is back and just had a big threat to it, instead of her future corpse?

Not digging the jerk treatment by WW here, since despite not a direct lie, it's obvious that Tom had feelings and she wasn't completely truthful. It's like I tell my kids, there's the word of a lie and the spirit of a lie, and often the spirit kind is much worse.

That said, I'll restrain myself from sharpening the pitchforks and lighting the torches just yet. Secret Six has had a few twists that I ended up loving and is possibly the greatest comic on earth right now. I'm willing to allow this one a chance since it has the same pilot.
