(chuckle) If you'd ever heard an Irish toddler on its home ground, you could believe the "sonic" part. They yell (the local dialect word is "roar") in a tone that's unmistakeable anywhere, and could split your eardrums.
...But Monaghan? There are people here who'd say there's no such thing as a Monaghan accent. Then again, I didn't think there was a Wicklow one, either, and after twenty years in Wicklow I still can't tell what sets it apart. (sigh)
