Is it just me or does it look like the 'Master's' new apprentice is holding an invisible sword in the second panel of the first full page? Is that a plot point or does the guy just like to stand funny?

Also, all will be forgiven if this is revealed to be a clever ruse on Doom's part.

It might be intentional; this is what the apprentice's sword looks like on another page.
