Fantastic Four #566

Doom is back in Latveria (also, the dead Watcher from the previews is an Uatu from another dimension).

Later his master the Marquis of Death, with his new apprentice, arrives.

There are two constants in the Marvel 616 Universe. Steve Rogers, and Doom bows to NO ONE.
"Masters" my tuckus.

There is but one man Doom would... nay, could... ever bow to.

Clearly that is future-Doom.

Which begs some causality questions and the matter of memory loss, unless you go the obvious AU route.

No, even when Doom met his future self, he killed him, being disappointed at the failures his future self had let happen, and how weak he had become. (Weak enough so that the technology of Doom from an earlier age could bypass all his defenses).

Future Doom remembered this moment, as one of relief and inevitable disappointment. Present day Doom swore never to become that person.

Proving that when two Dooms meet, one will inevitably be murderously disappointed at the weakness of the other.

Clearly this is a future-Doom that has only gotten stronger.

(sidenote: I'm saddened not so much that they've already done the Doom-meets-future-Doom-and-it-ends-with-"suicide" storyline, but rather that I am surprised that they have)

Motto on that. Doom would fight to the fucking death before he would call someone master. Doom has spit in the faces of gods before.
