I'm curious, did I somehow give you the impression that I thought otherwise?
Because you tried to defend Grayson's distinction between "rape" and "nonconsensual sex" by basically saying, "Well, maybe they didn't actually have sex, which would mean it wasn't rape," which is why I countered by saying that ANY act which would qualify as "nonconsensual" would STILL be rape, no matter WHAT it was. There simply is NO defense for her remark, no matter how much you try to twist yourself into logic pretzels by claiming otherwise.
[...] he didn't realize how it was going to turn out. By the time he has a pretty good idea, he still feels responsible for her, but his life is going down in flames around him [...]
Dick is one of the most hyper-competent, hyper-connected characters in the DCU. That he couldn't discern how wrong she was "until it was too late," with all of his friends and family giving him warning signs, is completely fucking ludicrous, and that he couldn't drag himself out of his slump sooner, WITH THE GREATEST NUMBER OF RESOURCES OF ANY CHARACTER IN THE DCU TO DO SO, fundamentally requires that HE NOT BE DICK GRAYSON. And that's my biggest problem here - Devin Grayson stripped Dick Grayson of all the resources, all the relationships, all the strength, all the intelligence and all the integrity that doesn't just DEFINE Dick Grayson, but that are INHERENT to EVERY PART of who he is, to the point that he was A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT CHARACTER, who just so happened to be named "Dick Grayson." You might as well write Superman as a pedophile, if you're going to stray so far from who the character is.
