And the problem I have with fanfic writers gone professional is when they clearly haven't outgrown their bad fanfic habits, Writer's Fiat being primary among them, just like the problem I have with fanboys gone professional is when they use their jobs to enforce their selfish fanboy preferences via Editorial Fiat.
Everybody defends the writers and editors by complaining of "entitled fans," but the fact of the matter is that the "professionals" in this industry are the biggest entitled fans of all, and if what we're seeing right now is the result of writers and editors who "love" the characters and concepts, then quite frankly, I'd prefer to see the work of writers and editors who "love" those characters LESS.
