Which is a source of constant disdain. Alfred (in his own British reserve way) does care very deeply for all the boys and girls and Bruce. He's been shown to come to the emotional aid of the others on his own without Bruce's knowledge or approval. I doubt Alfred would have simply given up on Jason, because you KNOW he would have given up on Bruce's ass by now. So why is there no Alfred/Jason interaction? Because Jason would have listened to Alfred (even if he listened to no one else). Alfred was a strong source of emotional stability and support in Jason's life, perhaps the only one. Alfred would have tried to quietly guide Jason to get some help, then guide him back into the fold some way or another (even it's just to help him work on his own like Huntress). And all of this would completely have conflicted with the "OMG Jason is a mad crazy badass motherf***er! He'll be the anti-Batman! WOOT!" plot that writers have been pushing.
