Absolutely. I mean, in current continuity Bruce picked Jason up after firing Dick to begin with. He doesn't want to get rid of Jason. And look at how badly Dick, who was far more stable, reacted to having Robin taken away from him. It's hard under the best of circumstances. And one of the drawbacks of Robin is that it ties together Bruce the father with Batman the partner. Even if Bruce would say these boys were still his son if they weren't Robin, none of them really believe it. How could they?
Yes- Bruce doesn't have any idea what it means to be poor. And really, I wish there were more writers willing to remember the class issues at work there than just Winick.
Yeah, I love this aspect. Even when it shows up in subtle ways, since none of these kids grew up in the kind of bizarre world of money that Bruce did. But their original upbringing really shows in the way they deal with Bruce's. But Jason's situation was really something special in that regard. He's very much aware of Bruce as the "have" vs. his world of "have nots" in ways the other Robins aren't.
