Two Superdictionary scans!

Heh. Although I realize it's probably supposed to be far back, I like how out of proportion the Batmobile looks in relation to Robin in the background.

Now, this one is really quite spectacular:

You said it, Supergirl!

Hooray, Superdictionary!

I know 'this' is hard to define, but...what?!

I know! It could possibly be interpreted as: this = book.

I love how PO'd Batman looks there. It must have been one hell of a bad joke...

For once, the Superdictionary version is pretty close to the original context:

That is awesome, Batman needs to "Owtch!" in comics more often.

Actually, he might be saying "Owtch!" because, having missed the Teen Wonder, that swinging rifle butt kept on travelling and hit Batman on the side of his head...

Well, even if that's true I still think he's saying "Owtch" to Robin. Having a rifle butt hit you in the jaw hurts...but bad puns are its own kind of pain.

Nice! I love seeing where the art from the dictionary is taken from.

I still think it's oddly adorable how Robin looks like he's sneaking around back there.

You know she's just going to attend JLA meetings and keep giggling as she imagines Green Lantern with a frog on his head.

I haven't read a lot of stories that feature Hal Jordon, and yet I do kind of like the guy. I'm pretty sure my affection for him is 90% off of the Superdictionary.

Isn't Batman promoting a more obscure and colloquial use of the word "ow", therefore potentially causing more confusion than good vocabulary?

Yeah, I think you're right. It's really kind of odd. I figure they were just too lazy to come up with anything else to say in this definition. Either that or it was more popular in '78 to say "ow" in response to a bad joke than it is today. 0_o

Sometimes I do wonder just how many copies are in existence. And how many owners of those copies are truly aware of its gloriousness?

These two actually make a fair amount of sense, as Superdictionary entries go...
