A man wrote that recipe. Only 2 pearl onions? They're only the size of marbles. I'm thinkin' more like 12 - and that's only if you're using them just for flavor.

Only 4 peppercorns? Even if you crack/grind them, that'll maybe get a quarter of a teaspoon.

Parsnips and allspice in Chicken noodle soup? Ick.

Not only on my behalf, but on behalf of Alton Brown, Tony Bourdain, Michael Ruhlman, and a thousand other guys whose cooking and writing about cooking has helped overturn the sexist stereotype that cooking is "women's work."
