These Mr. Ozimandias stories sure are grim. Good thing Dell, due to its squeaky-clean reputation, was able to get away with what EC could not: declining to sign on to the Comics Code in 1955. (Actually, even when EC did reluctantly begin submitting issues to the CCA, it was too late; they had such an [undeservedly] bad reputation few newstands would carry their titles.)
Getting back to this story: I'd love to see Paily go head-to-head with the Swamp Thing.

Nice little story. For some reason, the huge blocks of dialogue don't seem oppressive at all.

I'm not wild about the notion that becoming a master of ONE type of mysticism automatically makes you an expert at ALL of it. I mean, what would a Tibetan Lamasery teach you about plant magic? These are BUDDHISTS we're talking about here - their whole belief system is about perfecting the self (a vast oversimplification, I know, but still). What would they know about fertility rites? It doesn't make much sense to me.
