Marvel Adventures #35
Marvel Adventures Avengers is always awesome... Plus it is a scientific fact that any comic book can be improved by the presence of Batroc.


Ok our story starts out with Hawkeye accidentally uploading all of the male Avengers' personal information onto a personals website called Lover's Leap. This results in the Avengers being set-up on dates without their knowledge. So they go to visit the site's owner directly.









After their battle Batroc makes a deal with the Avengers profiles if they agree to go on some dates, but well the deal backfires and soon enough they're fighting again.





C'est la vie.

Giant Girl is still on team, but alas she and the other female avengers only make a cameo in this issue.

And I was thinking of Peter Sellers as Inspector Clouseau.

Given Bendis' fetishes for a) noir and b) Mamet, I'm surprised he hasn't recast Batroc as Jean Reno in Leon and/or Ronin.

The panels with Hawkeye's "thinking face" while he uploads the data is priceless.

So are the guys getting excited about the girls leaving. "No laundry!" Then the indoor football game and Cap, "I do not approve of this horseplay."

I love Batroc the most when he is joie de vivre personified like this. Which is just so appropriate to MA, which, after all, is joie de vivre in comic book form.

I love MA:A. This is my Marvel canon. So now I need to figure out how to get a local bookstore to special order me the trades that I don't have yet one at a time until I'm caught up...
