Bat/Cat in No Man's Land
This is from Catwoman Vol. 2 No. 72 "A Funny thing happened on the way back to Gotham...."

Selina's been in Manhattan and Oracle says she's needed back in Gotham

So she makes her way back into Gotham. During No Man's Land, no one was allowed in or out of Gotham, so getting her way back in was a task in and of itself. She puts on her flippers that match her catsuit and swims her way back into the city. In doing so, she had to avoid security, gangs, etc. So to say she's a bit peeved is putting it in the least...

Heh. The key to a good bat/cat story? Sexual Tension. Mmmmm..
Only one more day of bat/cat week #2!!!

Oh man am I ever gonna make some icons out of these pages when I get some time. So many nice expressions! Just so long as I can crop the water balloons on Selina's chest out...

Yes, particular love for last page third and fourth panels.

I know! Who's boobs are that perfectly round? (And aren't fake)

Never underestimate the merits of a padded bra.

I miss the old whip... the old gloves... the old mask. The purple, I could do without, but... that outfit worked so well for her. No reason it should, but it did.

I kinda like her new outfit with the goggles and the boots, too, though. It seems more functional, perhaps.

(Also was never a fan of her having the tail)

The thing I like about the old costume? She looks like, not a cat, but the shadow of a cat. See... where she's dancing with Batman, pretty much any panel.

Functional? She's got to have one helluva support system in that thing because her boobs are HUGE!

The thing that this past couple of weeks has shown me is that the whole ZOMG BATMAN'S DEAD NO RILLY RILLY BATTLE FOR THE COWL ETC. merely highlights how the current crop of DC writers are as inept as the current crop of Marvel writers. When you've got characters this good, you don't need to "Kill" One Of Them Off To Create Drama. Especially the way they did it.

After Connor, Bart, J'Onn and half a dozen Teen Titans, you're only noticing this NOW?

:) Oh, I've seen it for years. I'm an eternal optimist. Which I guess is also part of the problem, because the stuff both companies are cranking out now is so damn pessimistic -- dystopian, even.

Eee! Why do I not have this issue?

He kisses her! And she still has to ask, "And?" Oh, Selina!

'Kay, yeah, this is hot.

I love the way you can tell how much they just enjoy this sort of thing. Like, look at the way Selina's leaping all over the place, whipping around her tail loving being a cat. And then there's Bruce actually leaping in with his cape around him like Dracula remembering how damn much he loves being a Bat. It's like they're *this close* to being furries.

Nice! Very nice! I love how she's (theoretically) evil, yet still very dependable.

Hooray for the anti-hero!

Come to think of it, I really never thought Selina was all that evil.

I don't even think she fits in villainess category. I mean she does bad stuff (steal), but she's definitely more of an anti-hero...or #1 ambiguous Rogue!

And tbh, I don't even think it's debatable that she's the only one who owns Bruce's heart. Nyah! :-D

I have to say, pretty as this is, the whole "Come from Manhattan to sealed off Gotham so I can order you back to Manhattan" schtick is just one of the reasons I LOATHE the Batman from this era.

Paranoid dickhead much Bat's? Why not, I don't know, ask one of your allies in Manhattan to approach her WHEN SHE'S THERE?

Because Gotham-focused Batman doesn't trust his outside allies. (Not saying I agree with that characterization, but he's often portrayed that way.) Also, I suppose he didn't want to risk her attempting to get in with the goods and failing, potentially losing them.

I know, they also don't have the two-part issue The Code in the trade, which is one of my favourite Joker/Harley moments. (In which Harley turns the tables on Mr. J)
