And now the citizens of Gorilla City join in the Allen-fellatio. Wonderful.

*facepalm*

(no, that isn't in the posted bit, but it is in the preview)

As for Barry's behaviour: Actually, I don't mind Barry at all. It's everyone else that's driving me mad. Barry is experiencing serious PTSD. To my mind, that's a good thing. Death, in his case, is not just being treated as a revolving door. There are consequences to his return. It's a lot like Buffy in season 6, but hopefully without the melodrama and the hatesex and the darkness and--

Oh wait. Geoff Johns is writing this. Never mind.

Though at least Joss gave us a musical episode...

And with whom shall Barry have the hatesex...?

WOW. Yeah, the giant painting of Barry, with everyone else branching out of him.

Throw in the Zolomonized "MY MOTHER IS DEEEAAAD!" origin and it's like Johns is going out of his way to make me hate this.

See, I snickered when Johns had Prime deliver the "My parents are dead" line. So fitting on so many levels... not least because I'm fairly certain that Johns just does not get it.

Because it's not like Barry was the first Flash let alone hero they met or anything.

I don't mind them making a tribute in celebration of his return. He was their friend, and as you said he's the first human they encountered peacefully. It's perfectly fitting. I don't mind the indication that Barry led to Wally and Bart, because it's true and again perfectly fitting. Indicating that Barry led to Iris and Jai is just bizarre, and indicating that Barry led to Jay? And SAVITAR?

No.

You're assuming that's what it means. Those branches could indicate something negative. After all, hasn't Barry's return started negatively impacting and hurting all the other speedsters? He is at the center of a current mystery, it could just as easily refer to that rather than 'Barry and the descent of speedsters' or something, right?

Given what they're doing to the Savitar picture, yours is probably the correct interpretation. Therefore, I withdraw my complaint.

Of course, we're now left to wonder how the gorillas know all this, and whether or not there will be more people added to that picture.

Excuse me as I ninja delete my other comment since, you know, too slow...

Well, gorillas are very smart. Also, I'm holding out for a completely nonsensical and random John Fox cameo.

Technically, Barry may have used the speed force to super charge the heavy water that gave Jay superspeed.

Pretty sure it was a Mark Waid-era retcon, but I may be misremembering.

Blah! That's just... poor (Like the 1990's story which revealed the Crimson Avenger, DC's first costumed hero back in the 1930's, was actually secretly avenging the death of Superman at the hands of Doomsday, in a vision of the future the WWI soldier who became the CA had thanks to Rama Kushna, always truck me as the worst sort of hagiography.

Might it be connected to a story detailing the end of Barry's life where we discovered that as hie body disintegrated in Crisis, some sort of energy form was left that kept zipping along through spacetime and ended up becoming the lightningbolt which hit the cabinet of chemicals.

"Before he came back, the Green Lantern Corps no longer existed"

Point of order: Hal didn't rebuild the Corps, even though that statement makes it sound like he was responsible for its return.

It was more to do with change. Honestly, though, Barry may not have even met Kyle yet.

I don't know. If Barry knows that much, he ought to know the rest of it.

"His prison being the one you were trapped in..."

So the Speed Force is no longer a Nirvana for runners?

That might just be Hal's POV of the whole thing: Barry wasn't "dead," he was just "trapped."

I'm not exactly a guy who can make good posts, so I'll just ask here: Have we discussed how Didio said that the New Gods were dead and gone? Both as enemies and allies?

Is there a reason you're asking that here, since no New Gods seem to be involved.

And IIRC they were never really intended to be dead, as, at the end of Final Crisis they were reborn but into another of the Multiverse worlds.

I'm sorry, I thought this mentioned Didio's most recent Q&A. That's what I get for posting tired. Never mind, then. He just said something about the New Gods basically being completely gone, and I probably misinterpreted that, too.

So why doesn't this guy just put the other cowl on, he's got the no-nonsense detective thing down -- complete with "Oh, you're gone? I thought we were still talking..."

He's wearing his badge and ID on the cover? I wonder if anyone asked about the unannounced, extended leave of absence...
