'Cats' was one of my first DCAU comics. I loved it then, love it now. I remember thinking how mature a story it was, how complex and sad. Also, Catwoman's inner dialogue rocks.
Must say though I'm not impressed by the second two. I always felt that there was a disconnect between the Batman of JLU and Beyond, and the original Animated series. The Batman in the former is all grimdark! and professional, while the guy in the Animated series was dark, but with very human overtones. I mean, this is the guy who wooed Andrea Belmont, had a fantastic flirtation with Selina, and then there's all the other women: Talia and so on.
I can't quite remember, but was there a significant change in the New Batman Adventures that is reflected here in the DCAU comics? I think he became more grimdark! there, now that they had given him such an extended family and changed the tone...but I still remember the humanity of the man, which makes for such a disconnect here. Perhaps it's just all Conroy's voice. That voice could lead me unto the gates of Hell.
