Star-Crossed

Four scans from Thor #601, and three from Incredible Hercules #128.

This month in Thor, most of the Asgardians are honour-bound morons, and the honour-bound-moron-in-chief, Balder, decides it would be a good idea to move to Latveria.  This causes problems for the somewhat inexplicable romance of Bill, a short-order cook, and Kelda, a sex-bomb Nordic goddess:

Then, at issue's end, with the Asgardians beaming out of Asgard (Loki's magically teleporting them, but it looks like the Enterprise's transporter), suddenly, Bill turns into an all-American badass (cue 80s power-chord anthem):

I'm torn between whether that was awesome or laughably unbelievabe.

Elsewhere, in Herc, our heroes get away in the midst of the fight between Hera and Osborn's forces, but Ares negotiates (!) a truce:

Heh, Argus.

And Herc, rackin' up the product endorsements, I see.

On the one hand, that's cute and I like the reversal there of a standard trope. He's a determined nobody dude paired up with an immortal goddess. On the other hand, this is almost certainly ending badly for him.

Furbabies! *giggle*
