Warning: Moderately Incoherent Ramble
I can't read DitF. Especially after Icon's list and the general reaction, but nothing about it has ever made me want to read it. I don't like Starlin's Batman. He wrote an awesome Marvel comic I read once, but I can't stand his Batfamily work.
I've been thinking a lot about how many opportunities they waste in the Batverse. To show interactions between characters. Over significant events. I'd take the offhand comment or two, during some oh... detective work or something. During crimefighting. Something.
Ugh. It's hard for me to express it, but I want them to act like themselves--BftC, I'm looking at you, and to acknowledge the impact.
And they seem to do it all over the place--apparently Cass and Steph haven't even been really seen together since Steph came back from the dead. The *dead*. Babs isn't there for Dick at his worst moment, she runs off and abandons her people and doesn't even talk with her dad about Bruce's death. Dick and Tim and Jason are... bah. You know. And the worst is, the rush to get Damien in on things. Why the rush for that, when they can't even be bothered with showing us the characters we actually care about acting in character?
