Fungus Grotto

Vielle is like any normal 17 year old girl with dreams, goals, and aspirations. On the eve of leaving home to step into her future she finds she's not quite ready to go. Torn between 'out there' and 'comfort' Vielle takes a moment to daydream… Just dream… And she thought going out into the real world would be hard. --Ms,Shatia Hamilton

Five scans under the cut!

Seriously, folks. You need to be reading Fungus Grotto. Oh, and Hamilton has been nominated for a Glyphs Comics Award for her creation! Nice!

That art is very, very pretty. I especially love the look of the weeping willow leaves in the background on the first and second pages.

I'm getting a heavy "Ferngully" vibe off of this, but the art IS pretty and I will be going back to read the rest! :)

This looks nice. I'm a total sucker for a girl in a hoodie. :)

I have nothing witty to add. This is a webcomic?

... except the main character, her mother, and the red-haired boy all look to be the same age and gender. Just as I was starting to forget what puts me off manga. :(

Preeeeeeeetty. Relatable stuff, too - I went through a process very much like this when I was going away to college.

I try not to use this icon much because icon_uk's new default is from the same pic, but I'm using it

I choose to interpret that you do not just mean the mental process, but that you were shrunk down and subjected to a series of trials by previously unknown fairyfolk.
