Teaser for new Brave and the Bold Episode - Starring the Huntress
... and a decidedly lovestruck Blue Beetle

And just wait until you see some of the bad guys!

I love the slo-mo as he watches her in action

Oh, and for legality. we see that Dick Grayson is a smart cookie, even as far back as 1942's Batman #13 he was covering his options in case the Bob Kane gig doesn't work out and he needed a new creative sugar daddy!

And may I say IJ's video and link embedding set up SUCKS!

Holy CRAP. If that three minutes were the entire episode, I would be happy. Cannot WAIT.

There is too much awesome to process, and I'm only coming up with hyperbole, so I'll stop now.

That's Babyface's wife; Mrs Manface

Seriously, I couldn't have made that up if I'd tried.

She's kind of like an inverse Dr. Girlfriend, isn't she?

Looks like we found Dr. Girlfriend's long lost older sister.

So looking forward to this, they are finally getting women on the show. Black Canary also stars in the teaser (and the later musical episode). I love how lovestruck Jaime is, poor guy.

Pics (including Black Canary, Calculator and Solomon Grundy) here too:

There's gonna be a musical episode?

Damn, I have the perfect icon for that over at LJ...I'll have to upload it here.

A musical episode with Black Canary... That sounds painful.

He also wrote the Red Tornado intro episode "Invasion of the Secret Santas" which has more than a few laugh at loud moments, as well as managing to actually UP the angst on the deaths of the Waynes more than any iteration I've ever seen before (The Waynes only went to the cinema to try and cheer up Bruce who had acted like a spoiled brat and smashed the family heirloom his father had given him as a Christmas present because it wasn't the action figure he wanted) so I'm happy to give him the benefit of the bout.

Yeah, he seems better at writing for the screen (though he wrote a few horrendous episodes of The Batman...).

I can only find reference to one he wrote "Traction", which was the third ever episode.

He wrote the one with Ragdoll, too. Maybe "horrendous" is the wrong word, but they were certainly mediocre IMHO. Lots of very cheesy dialog.

I like to pretend the crappy diolague is Selina and Bruce's way of communicating that they both like cliche old movies.
The replacing of alcohol with water was too much though, that was narm.

Yeah, I know, except he's not especially good with the female characters, especially female characters with ties to the Bats. And this episode seems to have so many Birds of Prey references (Dinah and Helena fighting Calculator? Babs, Charlie, and Zinda can't be too far behind) that I kind of expected them to pull in Gail a la Double Date. BoP is probably the last thing I'd trust Beechen with, Cass (and Steph, I guess) notwithstanding.

Also, while I totally get your apprehension, I'm actually kind of heartened that there's finally an episode with a woman with a reasonably large part. I adore the show, but there have been hardly any female characters at all.

Jim Lee's would never make it past BS&P given that this show is intended for the younger audiences (it'd be interesting to see a median age breakdown of the viewership, though).

I seem to remember that Teen Titans was meant for the 6-10 crowd originally, which is why there were editorial decisions like calling Slade "Slade" and not "Deathstalker" (too nasty a name for a kids' show).

Mind you, I think it, like most of the Timmverse cartoons, eventually started getting more stuff past the radar and assuming an older audience.

One of my personal gauges for who these shows are really geared to is voice casting. Because kids (in theory) don't care about who's doing the voices, whereas adults are freaking about about Wil Wheaton playing Ted Kord (and I still think Billy West as Skeets is the best thing EVER).

Much as I hate Adam Beechen, he already wrote the awesome Red Tornado ep, and the damn near best episode of Teen Titans: The Haunted. Seems he should stick to animation, because hard as it is for me to say it, he's rather good at it.

He also wrote the first "Mad Mod" episode of Teen Titans, which is one of the most brain-meltingly insane pieces of animation ever to emerge from a DC property (and I mean that in a GOOD way)

Has he ever written a Johnny DC title story? Anyone?

Eh, I'm not so thrilled. Babyface is kind of a mundane villain compared to what we've seen before, his gang is pretty lame (Hammertoes and a guy whose power is anti-deoderant? pass), and seeing Jaime lose all his competence thanks to Huntress is kind of sad.

Although in that part I did keep on thinking "Ohhh, Terry! ...I mean, Blue Beetle."
