He hates Spider-Man. He likes Peter quite a lot, actually, and Peter likes him too. It's just neither of them will admit it. Stil, you don't pay thousands upon thousands of dollars for the best legal team in town for some guy you don't like, even if he's one of your long-time employees, but he did that for Peter, without taking credit. Yes, I am talking about miserly, braggart J. Jonah Jameson here. XD
The fun of Jonah as a character is that he's annoying, obnoxious and sometimes even dangerous, but strangely likeable. Neither Waid nor Slott seems to get this. Peter actually referred to Jonah as his "mortal enemy" last issue (592, Waid-written) and the recap actually called him Spidey's archenemy, both of which are completely laughable titles when the guy who murdered Spidey's first true love (and killed his brother/clone and child, not that they like to mention that these days) is practically ruling America.
