Ah yes. This reminds me of all the times I've spoken to actual Christians who joyfully recount fatal car wrecks that led to one person considering Christianity. God is so great the way he caused that wreck and injured all those people because now my sister in law is considering coming to church with me next week!

Really? That's awful. Different priorities I guess. Tragic events. Hurt People/Suddenly Church-Going ppl? hurt ppl....or suddenly church going ppl. It's one thing to see good stuff in bad but that sounds a bit much...

Incidently Betty looks pretty joyfull when she says "Debbie's hurt... Badly!"

Even worse, theologically speaking, is an anecdote I heard once about a guy who narrowly missed his flight due to a traffic jam. Upon hearing that the flight crashed with no survivors, he thanked God for saving him. This was apparently a submission to the "Faith" column of an ultra-Orthodox Jewish newspaper. The implication is of course that God didn't consider any of the people who did make the flight worth saving.
