Batman Confidential #28 - SPOILERS
Damn, this was a fun arc!

Sorry if some of this looks choppy, but it's broken up to 1) stay within the posting limits and 2) preserve some of the mystery, as well as the cool reveal in the last couple of pages of the book.

So, of course, Eddie takes the opportunity to clock Batman while he has the chance...

...and fumbles the rescue, because there's only so far you're allowed to upstage Batman when his name's on the cover of the book.

But at least they make up in the end. Kinda.

BTW, those last couple of pages that I'm not showing? They make me really, REALLY want to see this team do more with this Tut guy.

I've really enjoyed the fun story and fantastic art in this arc. This one's worth your money, folks.

God, I ship them so hard.

I'm sorry, what? I'm sorry, I couldn't hear you over the sound of how awesome Riddler is.

Motto.

(And when he said "end of the day", I couldn't help but think of "(k)nightfall", one of his puns from the BTAS ep What Is Reality?

So far, I am REALLY hoping that King Tut stays around as a Batman villain. I mean, yes, one could argue that the quota for riddle-leaving villains has already been filled, but he doesn't HAVE to keep doing that - there are any number of niches Tut could fill. Egyptian mythology, a royalty fetish, delusions of godhood (the Pharaohs, after all, were supposed to be living gods) - he could be like the cool, psychotic, Egyptian version of Maxie Zeus! And who wouldn't love that? Besides, he has the advantage over a number of villains already, since his character has been in the public eye for decades due to the '60's TV show. So a lot of people will go 'Oh, yeah - King Tut. Wait, he's a NEW villain? I thought he'd been around for a long time - that's interesting.' There's a hook right there. I tell ya, it'd be like printing money!

Wonderful scans, thanks a lot for posting suzene.
I love this creative team so much, at first I didn't take the prospect seriously but so far this has been the best Batman story of 2009 so far for me. And oh my is Riddler great. I always loved him, but i'm surprised at how much everyone else does too. I guess it's his ability to switch sides and still remain smart and smooth talking and awesome incarnate.

Total agreement with you too psychop_rex, I'd love to see King Tut reappear, he's acutally a really interesting and engaging villain here with al ot of history to mine.

*So* much awesome. I want the team to do more Batwork. Any form, I'll take it. But I especially love this version of Eddie/Bat team-up, the way both of them are written and the gorgeous, gorgeous art. Fantastic! Best Batbook, with this three-issue arc. I'm sorry it's over.

I need to find a place that actually updates their comic stock. Just so I can get this.

Eddie, <3.
