tribbles are badass. It's good to know I got to say that at least once in my life and mean it.

Unbelievably awesome. Army of tribbles is going on my fantasy wish list, right after jet pack, and T Rex.

Holy shit, tribbles can be trained? (and can delay pregnancy?)

Hell with that, they can apparently think.

I always thought Tribbles were mindless.

...unless, that's what they WANTED US TO THINK.

...Oh well, I for one welcome our new furry overlords.

I'll never understand why the Klingon homeworld was never bombed with tribbles.

According to that DS9 episode where they time travel to the original series episode that introduced the Tribbles, the Klingons undertook a successful campaign to wipe out all the Tribbles. I believe, however, that one Defient crewman brought one back to the future...

Odo's sarcastic comment on that little revelation is wonderful - "Another glorious chapter in Klingon history. Tell me, do they still sing songs of the Great Tribble Hunt?"

You know, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if the Tribbles were actually an engineered biological weapon. They're almost literally virii on a macro-scale. It just so happened that the instruction manual and warning labels were lost, and Whatsisface (Mudd?) thought he could make a profit selling them as pets. So, Neglectful Precursors and Forgotten Superweapon?

Like Cyrano though I do, I always got the feeling it should have been Harcourt Fenton Mudd. A trader who deals in self-replicating pets isn't going to get more trade, but a con-man wouldn't care.

You know... this is sort of a tangent, but it's something to watch the Mudd episodes now and think about how my opinion of him has gone from the lovable rogue with a twinkle in his eye to a sleazy pimp and pusher who fucks robots. (Not that there's necessarily anything wrong with that... but it's kind of sad how he's bragging about it in "I, Mudd", strutting around because he has all the RealDolls.)

Given that Mr. Gerrold included critters just like them in the Chtorr books -- which he of all people surely had the right to do -- and some of the implications of the Chtorran ecology ...

I'm still sad that the Chtorr books never got finished. I don't understand what happened with the publisher and why, but I for one REALLY wanted to know what happened in South America!

Ick, Octo-Mom. Have you seen the pic of her belly before she spawned? She looks like she's half-Xenomorph.

So Tribbles think in Claremont-speak? Who knew?

If those furry little buggers ever develop a proper hivemind, the Klingons are going to be in serious trouble.. and all the glommers in the Empire won't help.

I think my favorite panel from the book is in the top scan. Where she puts on the tribble suit, then punches the Klingon.

I seriously thought the little buggers had some sort of anime combo form. It is only slightly less mindboggling that someone took the time to give them thought-captions.
