LIFE AND TIMES OF SAVIOR 28: An ending
The final issue of J.M. DeMatteis and Mike Cavallaro's miniseries, THE LIFE AND TIMES OF SAVIOR 28. The series is told mostly out of order regarding the life of Savior 28, a Superman/Captain America pastiche who has decided the time has come to really change the world. It is narrated by Dennis McNulty, his former sidekick who later assassinated him.

Here is the CBR full preview.

Let's hope Savior 28 didn't say "hip time, daddy-o" too often.

SAVIOR 28: Confess! You're an impostor!
Many new series involve a superhero going bad. IRREDEEMABLE, THE MIGHTY, ABSOLUTION. THE LIFE AND TIMES OF SAVIOR 28 is a mini-series where a superhero goes good. Too good. So good that his friends and fellow heroes are convinced he has to be an evil duplicate.

What's a little enhanced interrogation among friends. )

Megatron and his wild hair

Two requests for the price of one, a few pages from Megatron: Origins #2, including the scene that he takes his helmet off.
As a little bit of background, he was part of a miner riot in the previous issue and went underground.  Now he's part of an arena-fighting league that's very Roman.

One perfect moment: Optimus Prime
Hey there. First post on the new SD. JUst wanted to get this one in before the week is over.

From "Transformers: Stormbringer #4" by Simon Furman and Don Figueroa. Thunderwing, a massive robot gone crazy after experimenting on himself with a bio-grafting techinque, is rampaging on Cybertron and the Decepticons are this close to just blow up the whole planet just to be done with it. Enter OP:

Spotlight: Mirage
Spotlight: Mirage is, quite literally, the first comic book I ever bought. I thought it would be a fitting first post to S_D, too.

Until August 16th, 2008, I had subsisted on old issues and TPBs of my father's, leading me to have read most of Sandman when I was twelve, been left on a cliffhanger in Elfquest for five years, and have most of the Superhero comics I could get my paws on being Superman (usually The Death Of) and Batman. A few months before that lovely day, I had been introduced to Transformers through TFA, and had been working through the various animated series and diving into the wiki as often as I could.

And, on the 16th, I got paid for a commission I'd done for my mother, in the form of my first TF toys and this comic.

Best choice I ever made. (Until I went back a couple months later and picked up some awesome Marvel issues. Goldbug! Blaster! :D )

I encourage anyone with even a vague interest in Transformers to look up this comic. It's an interesting character study, and a definite stand-alone, unlike most of the Spotlights (though a lot of them are pretty damn shiny), a good choice for anyone who likes a bit of trippiness and depressing in their comics.
