I...assume so, judging from the way he's talking here. But given that he's kind of on the outskirts of "the good guys", that kind of undermines the idea of Batman dying being something of a rumour and not a confirmed fact.

(Which doesn't make any sense at all IMO, when you had Superman flying around with a charred Bat-corpse. How was that not caught on camera? Or maybe Gotham just completely isolates itself from outside news sources.)

On the other hand, if he did know, you'd think he'd be flipping out/angsting over why Batman would be willing to shoot Darkseid and not the Joker.

I was explaining the BFTC plot to my friend today and started comparing and contrasting it to our current eating situation:
"See, my mom has always been The Cook around the house, just as Bruce has always been The Batman. I'd bet anything Bruce let Jason off the leash; I can just see him manipulating everyone from beyond the grave, playing them all off one another until they arrive at whatever result Bruce wanted. I bet you anything Tony Daniel didn't take that into consideration.

I mean, think about how the last issues of Robin and Nightwing left Tim being all cold, calculating and in denial, and Dick being open about his grief and observant and caring about Alfred and Tim.

And then consider the first issue of BftC, where Tim is going on about Dick being shut off from his emotions and all.

So, basically Jason took on the 'NO OUTSIDERS IN GOTHAM' part of the legacy, Dick the 'no guns ever', and Tim is presumably off-screen and unable to carry on the 'World's Greatest Detective' part due to the complete absence of anything even remotely resembling a plot.

Jason is a fanboy. Dick threatens to put him back in prison, which is lolarious on an untold number of levels. If BftC does end up with Jay back behind the bars, that'd be really really sucky writing. Oh, and tensions between Tim and Dick about Jason being free! Which, you know, would make sense if Dick wasn't being set up to be the one arguing for Jason to be in jail again.

In conclusion: why isn't Cass getting the cowl, DC.
