Ninja Turtles Adventures #64: Hitler Gets Punched
Because Hitler getting punched never gets old. I threw in some extra Hitler ownage as a bonus.

Here's the short version: In the future, Hitler's brain builds itself a robot body and travels back in time to team up with himself and change history. The future-versions of Raph, Leo and Don follow.

Retrieving the brain, the Turtles then head back to the portal because Future-Don lost the remote. (Again.) Hitler decides to take issue with this.

I believe that is the aforementioned remote in the last panel, perhaps as foreshadowing that was never enacted upon.

How to make Hitler's crimes trite...

It's almost impossible to put crimes on the scale of attempted genocide in any sort of context in a comic. Some come close, but I'm not sure I could cope with one which managed it.

I heard the "Magneto: Testament" (I'm not sure that's the actual title) comes very close. So close I couldn't bring myself to read it :/

Testament is AMAZING and fascinating

(I have an article/blog-post on it here:

Hey, I don't care what anyone says.

Hitler killed himself because the Ninja Turtles tricked him into it. And that is AWESOME.

YES.

And then they burnt his body and dumped it in the bunker to erase any evidence of their involvement. Makes sense.

BTW, the historical Hitler didn't speak English. Not that it matters much in this context. :-)

Originally, it had nothing on it.

But once they did this, the Cyber Samurai Mutant Ninja Turtles mini-subseries (it was a cutaway story arc that took place in the regular numerical order of the comic, unlike Mutanimals or April O'Neil's minis), they made it so that Raph and his wife(?) Mezcaal ran a club named Turtle Island, which the hat is from.

Amazingly, yes. TMNT Adventures got away with an insane amount of stuff.

And just barely, at that. Don Murphy talks about it a bit in his blog, The 5th Turtle.

Now I want to read more Archie Turtles and see what other crazy stuff they've done.

I have almost the entire series, except for #44 (part 2 of the 3-parter that introduced the future-Turtles) and #70 (effectively the last issue). I also have the entire run of the short-lived spin-off book, "The Mighty Mutanimals," and a bunch of the bi-annual special issues.

Bring forth your requests, and I shall do what I can.

If I offer you my brother's firstborn, can you post the origins of the various Mutanimals? I stopped reading the Archie Turtles series after they were all killed (they were mostly what I was there for), so it would be nice to get nostalgic over those guys again.

I'm calling bull here.

Hitler's hate vision powers, as demonstrated below, should have been enough to fend off the turtles.

Nah, Hitlers hate stare power derives from his mustache. Once he cut it down to the little nub he was rendered powerless.

Why did he do it? Eva Braun complained it tickled her face, and Hitler figured he'd never need it again anyways.

He was wrong of course, but then Hitler was wrong about a great many things.

No, they're not...yet. What with it being the Turtles' 25 anniversary this year, Archie's publishing a trade of the mini that led to this series in a couple months, and they're calling it "Vol. 1."

No word on additional volumes yet, but it's almost a given.

Mirage is also publishing a trade of the eight pertinent future turtles issues to lead into their Forever War end-of-the-archie-series mini that'll be coming out september-ish. I can't wait, but I am a bit nervous about the fate of the future turtles with the absolute supporting character bloodbath the book turned into toward the end.

The trade, sadly, won't be in color, but I've the singles in a box (along with way too many other ninja turtles books) Archie turtles are my favorite of the lot.

Here

And here.

The Forever War bits are toward the end of the interview. They've been talking about publishing it since back when vol. 4 of the Mirage book was still going, but it looks like it actually is finally happening. There were also some unpublished Forever War covers and an interesting history of the archie book on Murphy's blog last year.

You have my gratitude for posting these. I have them-- somewhere-- but being able to illustrate to people why the Ninja Turtles rule, past, present, and future, has been difficult. Amazingly, scans of these two parts have been nearly impossible to find online.

Now, how about Raph calling Verminator-X's bluff? :D
