Deadpool Corps: Coming March 2010

Deadpool Corps: Coming March 2010.

Quoted from Deadpool Bugle: "Marvel editor Axel Alonso posted on twitter a piece of teaser art from the recently announced Deadpool Corps mini event. He also confirmed that it will be released in March 2010".

Good Lord there's... a dogpool. o_0

Wolverine's been pretty much the same.

Sorry, but every time I hear the "overexposed" thing I just think of those people who hate popular things because of their popularity.

When I use the term I mean something has been handed to a million different people to do different things with and only a dozen or so of those people actually understand what they were given.

I'm all for stuff I like becoming popular as long as the popularity doesn't result in people who don't understand what made it popular to begin with handling it.

Wolverine used to be a barely restrained animal given a thin veneer of civility he was struggling to keep (and thicken) and forced to play well with others. There were interesting themes and psychology to be mined, which is what made him so popular he became overexposed. Now he's a GRIMDARK caricature and a prop used to sell comics.

To be fair, if the entire core concept of your character is that you're a disturbed, broody loner who does not work or play well with others, you might fill a justifiably useful niche for ONE superhero team, but if you're concurrently serving on a greater number of distinct superhero teams than any other character in your universe, then not only are you overexposed, but the core concept of your character has been beaten to a pulp and left in a back alley to die.

You might as well create a character whose mantra is "with great power comes great responsibility" and who has exceptional intelligence among his defining traits, and then show him behaving stupidly and irresponsibly at all times OH WAIT NEVER MIND IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW
